« on: 12 April 2008, 15:46 »
Hi just wondering if anyone has any pics of a fully colour coded MK3 golf like the GL 1s,

has anyone got any tips of painting the black trim on GTi bumpers and the black trim running down either side of the car?

like sanding etc, should i sand, what should i use to sand, what paint, laquer?

any help would be great thanks everyone!

I got the GL, all of the bumpers are colour coded but the bit right at the bottom of each side, and the trim at the very bottom on the front and back are still black.

As for painting...wouldn't know I'm afraid.

Thanks buddy

I actually bought it with all the stuff on lol! The only things I've done are the front grill, rear lights and just changed the front indicators to clear ones (need to change the sig pic).

I'll be keeping an eye on yours and see how it progress'

Got a link to the alloys?

Sounds like you got some good plans there.

(Just put up a new sig with clear indicators )

I still gotta get clear side repeaters, keeping the front as it is then, except a VR splitter. Need to change the alloys as well, but in no rush atm. GTI headlights FTW as well. I didn't even realise I had them already until someone pointed it out lol!

gotta get the rear spoiler colour coded as well.

the genuine colour coded side strips come ready primed and are smooth..... you can try paint yours and show the results.
