...Surely the question of whether to use 95 or 98 RON in the 2.0T FSI shouldn't be a question of fuel economy or cost per litre .

This engine needs at least 98 RON to run best as it has been designed and also such fuel with its additives will help the engine's longevity. Anyone bothered about the fuel cost difference between 95 and 98 should have bought a TDI in my opinion.

A fair point well put RR! I want to treat my car as well as I possibly can while I own it, so for me V-Power is a must (plus you get free Ferrari's!).
You wouldn't use cheap car wash/polish etc so it makes sense to protect the important bits you don't see

Ok so its Super unleaded from now on then. If only the dealer had explained this....

The petrol cap states 95 RON, I guess thats as a minimum.

By the way, even though diesels do get more MPG, for some reason its a lot more expensive here. There is a lot more duty on it in the Channel Islands than petrol. All the taxi drivers and builders are complaining.

if only we had V Power....!

....The filler cap 95 RON is a minimum - She'll run on it but it's not good in the long term. Optimax was 98 and I think V-Power is 99.
