Eibach coilovers
« on: 09 April 2008, 18:05 »
Hi... I have been offered some Eibach coilovers for my GTI at what I think is a very good price and having been told that they have done only 9000 miles since fitted as yet Ive not seen them.
Eibach list two sets of coilovers one for the manual GTI and the other for the DSG GTI.
The ones I've been offered are off a manual GTI (05) and I have a DSG GTI.
Does anybody know what the differences between the two could be.
The axle / spring rates are the same as are the amount of drop / settings.
The only things I can think of are the weight of the DSG GTI compared to the manual GTI or
if there is some other fixings for leads /pipes to do with the DSG gear box..
I will be ringing Eibach on friday with this question so in the mean time I ask you lot......

Cheers

There are different part numbers for the two kits, PSS65-85-014-05-22  for DSG, PSS65-85-014-06-22 for manual, not sure what the differences between the two kits are though, so like you said it would be best to check.

I dont think theres any extra fittings on the dsg ones which i have on mine. I was told it was because of the extra weight of the dsg gearbox by mike at vw speed. Im not too sure how much difference fitting the wrong set would make.

I was in the same situation this Tuesday and have just bought some Eibach coilovers for my DSG ED30. There are about 4 codes you need to be aware of. Look on the link below for your correct application.

The one's you need to look at then are the 05 and 06 versions. They also have a slightly higher front rating anyway
