so why is it ive bought and sold back 2 vw's , 1x passat sport and 1x Mk5 GTi and a higher resale price then whats book price. Could be a rare good dealer or an honest one, or are you one of the dishonest dealers. PLease check glasses guide online and it asked for factory extra's fitted. Sorry vw sales, your like the rest of the car dealers, rip off merchants, My local vw dealer has sold both my cars on both making at least 2 grand on each sale but also giving me more then book price.
So your saying, sorry mate, ill give you £14500, cus its on 05, then cus its loaded with extra's put on the forecourt after he's gone for £18995.Or would you please tell us why some GTi's are worth £2000 more of the same age on a second hand forecourt. "yeah this one has sat nav and Leather and xenons" and "yea this ones hasnt got any of those " hense the price increase.
Im glad im not local to your dealership if thats how you operate, i bet you loose loads of possible bussiness.

A car with options might not 'trade' for more but it should be easier to sell as its more desirable ... hence why a dealer may pay over standard book price knowing that they will make more and sell it quicker.

I like the sound of the Pirelli but not sure I want it branded on the car, can you confirm the stitching is yellow on all colours?

2300 a well maybe Vw will send me a wee number now to comemorate it lol, really couldn't give a sh@t how many they make its a better package all round than the gti, hence why i never bought one when they first came out.I knew the ed30 was worth waiting for as the orig mk5gti didn't live up to my expectations.
If you now your VW's you can spot an ED30 over a gti a mile away(well i can)But Phil's correct you will always come of 2nd best to a dealer as at the end of the day less for you = more for them, its there job they need to earn wether its by hook or by crook so i dont really get offended but I always sell privately as i always get more.
As for the Pirrelli i would buy it over the gti, but yellow stitching hmmm.

'mistake' ... lol

shows how naive they think Joe Public is.

It amazes me that people are that bothered.  Who buys a car as an investment anyway?  It's still a limited edition, regardless of numbers.  And if people really want to buy something exclusive, then don't buy a Volkswagen.

i can see why some people might be bothered, doesn't affect me either way so I don't care in the least... i'm only interested in how VW are dealing with the situation.. comedy so far

A car is just that.. in the end its always going to depreciate! If you havent worked out the "real cost" of ownership of your cars then you may be in for a shock when you take your year old car back into the dealership and he offers you 5k less than what you paid.

Have also read that used car market (like the rest of the economy) are going to take a real hit over the next couple of years. If like me you leased your car.... I just give it back after 2yrs :smug: No final payments or worrying about how hard its been driven for 2yrs.. just hand back the keys and go shopping for a new one!
