GTI Pirelli and info for Ed 30 owners'
« on: 09 April 2008, 16:43 »
New Golf GTI Pirelli specification
The Golf GTI Pirelli has the same high specification as the outgoing Edition 30,
including six airbags, 2Zone electronic climate control, darkened rear light clusters
and body-coloured front, rear and side spoilers. The Pirelli also has the following
features which differ to those on the Edition 30:
Exterior
• 18” ‘Pirelli II’ alloy wheels and 225/40 R18 Pirelli tyres. (Fig 1)
• Tinted rear windows
• Metallic/pearl effect paint as standard
Interior
• Sports seats – outer sections in ‘Vienna’ leather; centre of seats in Alcantara
with tyre tread pattern (Fig 2)
• Yellow stitching on steering wheel, gear knob, handbrake, seats and
headrests (Fig 3)
• Pirelli lettering on front head restraints
• Front centre armrest with storage compartment

Colours
The GTI Pirelli will be available in the following colours:
• Reflex Silver metallic
• Diamond Black pearl
• Blue Graphite pearl
(Metallic/pearl effect is free of charge)
Options
Options for the GTI Pirelli will be the same as for the Edition 30, except for tinted glass
and front centre armrest (which are now standard) and colours (details above).
Pricing
Prices for the Golf GTI Pirelli will be the same as those for the Edition 30:
Trim Engine and bodystyle Basic RRP VAT Total RRP OTR
Pirelli 2.0 230PS 6spd Man 3dr £18,561.70 £3,248.30 £21,810.00 £22,555.00
Pirelli 2.0 230PS 6spd Man 5dr £18,987.23 £3,322.77 £22,310.00 £23,055.00
Pirelli 2.0 230PS 6spd DSG 3dr £19,693.62 £3,446.38 £23,140.00 £23,885.00
Pirelli 2.0 230PS 6spd DSG 5dr £20,119.15 £3,520.85 £23,640.00 £24,385.00
Production
Production of the Golf GTI Pirelli will start from week 19 (5 May 2008), and the first
vehicles will arrive in the UK in June.

The popularity of this model and the planned arrival of the Golf MK6 in early 2009,
mean 2300 examples of the Edition 30 will have been produced by the end of its life. It
was an honest mistake that the model exceeded its planned volume restriction and it
was never Volkswagen’s intention to mislead customers.

To address potential customer concerns about effects this may have on residual
values, Volkswagen has been in contact with CAP, Glass’s and Emmox. They do not
foresee an impact on resale values.

cool, id have one in silver, stick some bbs ch alloys on and id have a nice ed30

why are they not doing it in that yellow, it was pure sex!!!

also are these being numbered?? like the anni?? if so why wasnt the ed30 as i believe that numbering them makes them far more exclusive to the owner

Not a bad package compared to the ED30 now you ain't got to have it in yellow!  (might be nice in the blue)  Not sure on that yellow stitching though! And I don't think I'd want 'Pirelli' stamped on the inside and outside of my car! Nice to get the tints and armrest included to! Anyone interested in one?

. 2300 sales of ed30 to approx 3500 to 4000 GTi's, doesnt make ed30 that much more exclusive does it?

Vw sales, do u know what is actually the resale value of both ed30 and standard GTi??? in percentage . Would u as a dealer offer more for an ed30  then a standard GTi, or would u treat both the same as in condition, mileage, and factory fitted extras which seems to make most difference.

ed 30 is probably worth 500 more than the gti.

But i have to add before people go off there nut, there are no figures for the ed 30 yet.

Options dont count in trade figures.

They dont list options in the book.

websites do now ask for what extra's are fitted, so i have to disagree with you on this one, and also having recently sold an 05 high spec GTi for £17500, whereas normal condition ones sell for a few grand less. hense why vw resale prices with options vary due to ammount of options on the car. You have to be very silly to chop your GTi for £14k only for the dealer to resale on for £19k because its loaded with extra bits. So extras DO count but dealers wont admit that. More £ in their pocket.

Yellow is optional anyway and so wouldn't be listed.

£500 only between the 2 models, ok im slightly more happy knowing that as a "normal Gti" owner, but if i was an ed30 owner, i would be slightly miffed.
