The 150 bhp Golf has the KO3 Turbo, the 180bhp Golf has the KO3s Turbo and cars such as Audi S3's, Leon Cupra 225bhp has the KO4 turbo, pretty sure exactly the same engines, just different turbo's.

AFAIK The only difference between the 150's and the 180's is the map.  Otherwise just the normal AUM with a 6 speed box.  The AUM is easier to remap to higher bhp's as it has the KO3s turbo, that said the earlier lumps although a bit trickier to get that power out have a stronger head so can cope with silly power better than the KO3's.  So unless you are going in for serious engine mods (ie more than a remap and filter etc) get an AUM.  These were available from late 2000 onwards....

No........  MOST of the 150 AUM's have the KO3-S.  Easiset ways to spot a 180 are the 6 speed box & the AUQ engine code/132kw power.

im alrite i no shes 100% turbo jus when she came up 125 on there data thing i was like ummm no shes a turbo guess i jus thought that as mine was 150 bhp that is should have shouwed on there system as soon as they typed in the reg number

o well hope they gave u cheaper insurance as a non turbo there mistake not your's!!!!
