Digifant Chips on eBay
« on: 16 April 2004, 09:31 »
As most of you know I recently bought one of these chips for my Golf, and from the same seller - looks like he's got another batch, so I thought seeing as so many of you showed an interested I'd post up a link to the auction.

There's only 10 so be quick, but for ?50 believe me "it's a steal, it's a deal, it's the sale of the f*cking century!"

Any question about my experiences so far, feel free to ask  ;D

I am very interested in this modification, what kind of gains have you seen and what benefits have you seen to other aspects such as fuel consumption etc.

I am just thinking about this as it would be nice to have a more drivable motor prior to big engine conversion.

My car currently puts out 120bhp with simple mods like stainless system and drilled air box according to Stealths Rollers a year ago. So maybe 126bhp could be good. :)

Well all I can say is I'm pleased with mine and I don't think this is a fake atall .... and that's coming from someone with a BSc in automotive Engineering.

Unofficially from talking to the guy these are 'copies' cough cough wink wink  ;D of a punker chip designed by a tuning company in Belgium. It's up to you if you feel happy buying one, but it's only a subtle chip to change fuel maps and timing etc so can't do any harm - no change to the rev limiter either.

If you don't like it, put your old one back and sell it !

Well the biggest difference is in the throttle responce - but alot of how noticable any mod is really does depends on the condition of the rest of the engine.

Mine's only done 80k and is never run on anything but Optimax - but check this thread out for some more info - hope it helps !!!

Are these chips re-mappable, I assume the chip sets up the fuelling for a standard car, however if you made other modifications, especially any extensive changes e.g. head work, cc increase etc you'd want to have the chip re-mapped to get the best out the modification, can you do this with the chips he's selling?

btw thanks for the heads up!
