Not quite a Golf

I've got the oppurtunity to get my hands on a 2000 Audi A4 1.8t quattro sport (180bhp), i know its not a golf but has anyone had any experiance with these things. I'm thinking of buying it until i can save up enough cash for a anniversary GTI. What do you think?

Drive it and see! What are you driving at the moment? I actually preferred the mk4 golf, i thought the power delivery was better (remapped), waiting for the turbo to spool up to make use of the 4wd just didn't tick any boxes for me. Its all personal opinion though really, get your @rse in it and find out.

well  :embarassed: i'm in a corsa sxi at the mo, so anything will be better! I want another golf but the insurance im on wont led me modify at all, so no remapping and the likes of, so im going to wait till i can build up enough money to get an anni and do it properly.
The audi is cheap and has nice extras, also wanna see what this quattro malarky is all about. Its got the TT 1.8t engine in it (180) so im hoping it will not to far off the golfs pace.

i quite like the look of them but guess its a case of try it and see, its in the best colour too

yeah but cant find one i like for the price, its more expensive on the insurance as well! I'm considering the A4 a temporary things while im in between golfs just wanted to see if id get a bad reaction from you guys  i'll be back in the GTI crew as soon as the ol' purse strings loosen up!
