alternator prob or not???????

 :undecided:hi does any one have any idea's if this could cause this!!!!
ive had trouble over the last year with air flow meter and temp sensors blowing ive replaced 6 of each in a year the temp sensor only lasts for about 30 mile onced fitted and around about the same for the air flow meter i got my own vag com which i check with also im getting a message on the onboard computer saying alternator workshop ive looked at a few posts which says that if the alternator is dodgy it can cause problems for many sensors on the car do you know if this could be my problem also my battery charge seems to be very low in the last few days had to bump start the car yesterday after leaving the radio on for around 5-10 mins any help would be much appreciated thanks darren :smiley:

sounds like your altenator is on the way out mate to me, I had to bump start my car the other day but thats because I left my lights on all day  :grin:

It could also be a duff battery......I know someone with an almost brand new range rover sport that kept flaggin up warning messages, parking sensors would go off for no apparant reason etc etc.  Took ages to track down but eventually they realised the current from the battery was dropping sporadically and causing the issues.  Worth checking out, cheaper than a new alt after all......

im from wales a place called abertillery not that far from cardiff
yes i think ill put a new battery on and check this
ive just come from a machanics house who just checked the voltage the alternator is putting through the battery and it came back 14.4v
so alternator looks ok unless its an intermittent fault
also the fault code on the vag com for the temp sensor and air flow is saying implausable signal

yes could be earthing prob only trouble is i know as much about cars as i do about quantum phsyics any one know where to start with checking the earthing cheers
here are a few pics of the car i love the car but this is driving me insane
