No Edition 30

The Edition 30 has gone from the VW website. Just the Vanilla GTI is now listed?

Have they sold the 1500, been built or allocated to dealers?

Bye Bye Edition 30

Is this the moment we ED30 owners have been hoping for :undecided:

I'll have to pay my dealer a quick visit to get the lowdown

Its a long shot but perhaps the letters from an unknown amount of gti 30 owners raising the issue of deception with VW has opened pandora's box and they've pulled the plug?

Obviously honouring all current orders etc?

Fingers crossed, don't want the ED30 becoming too common a site

It appears to have been withdrawn due to pressure from owners who wrote to VW Milton Keynes stating that they are in breach of their original 'limited to 1500 units' statement.

VW attempted to bury official press releases bearing the dreaded 'limited' word but this being the 21st century and everyone having t'internet access it wasn't possible to 'make it go away'.

'Tonker3' on the 'UK-MK4's' website recieved a call yesterday from VW stating that UK production of Edition 30's would cease immeadiately, and it appears that they've backed it up by withdrawing it from sale officially.

VW have also stated that would make public the total numbers produced for the UK market.

To those who bothered their arses (Tonker3 especially) to write in and harass VW for clear breach of contract, good on you, the little guy has claimed a victory for masses.

I guess we should all now await the new 230ps 'special release' (but definitely not ED30) Golf GTI.
EDITION 30.
I couldn't eat a whole one.
