Nope! mine has both! they were both options on the early GTI I think.  I went and looked at a 1.8T the other week and it didnt have traction control or air con or sunroof.....

mine also has both and traction 

there were both options through the life of the mk4 and become standard around 2002 time.

if you've got climate you'll know, air con is indicated by the A/C button under the middle dial

yh id know where to find it but asi havent really driven it or even barely looked at her for the past 2 weeks i havent paid much attention but im pretty sure she doesnt have aircon

Cheers for posting this.  Going to get mine booked in asap and prey that we have a scorcher this year   (should be okay as long as nobody starts singing bout bloody Umbrella's all the time!)
