Can't do it with a key or anything, I'm afraid - You need VAGCOM.

On mine there is a key hole top left in the glove box (bit higher than you may think) put your key in and turn it.

I've just had mine turned of by the stealers £70 but worth every penny when your putting a baby in the front.

It's the kind of job that they'd probably throw in during a service/other repair, TBH. 

ps  It must've been an option, because I scurried out to double check my glove box after those earlier posts!!
