Removing gamma radio/cd player...

Hi, all i am wanting to remove my standard gamma radio/cd player from my golf gti. I will be fitting a new single din head unit and i already have the little pocket to go under it, but how will i remove the standard with out damaging the dash??? Thanks

If you look to the sides of the skip/ff buttons on either side of the unit you'll notice a thin slot about 10mm long. There's a proper removal tool which has to be inserted into those slots and the stereo will simply pull out. If you have any thin sheet metal laying around it would be pretty easy to make your own. I haven't studied a cd unit so I can't help you with that part.

Cheers thanks for the help, im sure once i get the radio out i will be able to figure out the cd player comes out.
