I was insured on my mum's Clio when I first started driving when I passed almost two years ago.
About a year ago I couldn't afford the insurance anymore so I couldn't drive, but come March 2008, I bought myself a nice Mk3 1.8 Golf GL, it was bargain price with a load of cool features most people at 19 (and their first car) don't usually get (ie all round electric windows, mirrors, air con (and it works! LOL!) and other bits and bobs). So overall not a bad buy.
The only thing that worried me was the insurance, but I've got it insured now, I haven't held my license for 2 years or more, I have no NCB and I haven't really been insured before (I was a name driver). So not alot going for me to be honest.
I'm insured now with Kwik Fit by myself, TPFT for £1400!!!
I don't know why but I'm well chuffed with that, yet all the 1.4s and 1.6s, even some 1.2s cost around or more than that to insure.
