Another brake upgrade question?

hey people i've decided i want more stopping power from my 1.3 (because it's a rocketship at heart ) so what are my options? Is the 16v brake servo able to swap directly over to mine. would this be a good start? should i upgrade the front discs to 16v discs and should i upgrade the rear drums to discs. i have asked a similar question before and realise that to do the rear drum to disc upgrade i'd need the rear axle from a 16v and the bias valve. however would the rear axle bolt directly on or not and are there any other complications? does any one have any other suggestions?

if you want 16v brakes, buy a 16v in the first place.

it'll achieve the same thing, but you get a 16v engine thrown in as well for free.

A 1.3 needing more stopping power? gawd damn you must be ripping it a new exhaust hole 

I'm pretty sure the 16v axle will bolt straight on.

dude people dont have 1.3s for the sake of it, come on i'm 18 insurance is like trying to milk a frog, they just dont do it!!!

and as for the hole in the exhaust jayton its coming on nicley halfway to that V8 roar!!
i dont so much need it just want some mechanicals to get on with as i'm fed up of sorting the body work, and the brakes are probably the next job that needs doing (despite that biatch of a pierburg carb!!!!)
so i might aswel upgrade them in the process!

right so the rear axle bolts sorted! i guess the bias valve would be failry straight forward to put on but would i need to get a garage to set it up or could a few trips up to sainsburys and back be enough to help sort out the proportionating? (you can adjust the bias right?  ?)

TBH you don't need to change the rear brakes as they will only do so much and is more hassle than it's worth. Just get yourself a larger master cylinder... 19mm for 8v 239mm brakes or a 22mm for 16v 256mm brakes.

while we are brakes then...is the braided hoses legal?  i'm sorting my mates 309 with him, and the MOT station said they would fail any car with braided hoses as you can't inspect the rubber!?!?*!*! 

Any ideas on the legalities? Or whether the testing station were being c0cks!

mot says if you cant see it you cant test it, so the only thing they sould do is advise it

I'm sure there are other MOT stations around your area that wouldn't even look that close
