Ok ive had a new rear wheel cyclinder put on so i can now brake!

The car is now at home as leaving it with the garage cost to much money

Is there anything i should start checking to solve this problem

Ive told my garage all of the above

does anyone know a way of cleaning the fuel tank?

do you need to take the tank out or use the access uner passenger seats?

also any ideas on checking fuel pressure?

to do it properly you gotta taker the tank out, but if its only got rust in it you can drop a magnet on a length of string in there and drive about for a week or so, pull it out and clean all the crud off. repeat till it stops picking up rust!

If there is any rust in the tank chances are your fuel lines are all clogged up, your fuel pump is buggered and possibly the entire fuel system needs changing!  If you pull the fuel pump off, some have an inline mesh filter on the inlet side, if so you can try cleaning this out.  make sure you got something to block the pipe on the side of the tank after you pull it off the pump tho, or it'll drain very quickly

Yes electronic ignition

The fuel pump relay is sh1t, (the one with a fuse in it)  the fuse box can burn out or the wiring from the fuse box to the pump can go, get them to check that, the wiring colour is red/yellow, if memory serves me correctly (but it may be white and red) any way it comes outa the fuse box and goes through a Y spade terminal.
The relay powers the pump when the ignition is first turned on, then after the cranking it runs the pump.
The pump is located under the car, just in front of the o/s/f wheel, check the connections have not become crappy.
There is no lift pump in the tank for this model.
Make sure the car has not been run low on juice, as the metering head gets the right arse.
Flow check the injectors, get a jam jar, drill a 10mm hole in the lid, lever out 1 injector at a time, put in jam jar, turn on inigition (DO NOT START IT), messure the amount in the jar, repeat for all injectors.
Don't smoke, do it when the engines hot or when you've had a strong curry, keep a fire extinguisher handy, if you burn it, it will suck.
(I have loads of spare bits should you want to borrow/buy them, no metering head, but injectors and injector pipes.)

i shall be doing the above on saturday and will let you know how i get on

last weekend i thought id have a gander in the tank, emptied it out, the pipe going to the fuel pump was loose on the tank end, had to replace those jubilee clips.
all seems ok very little sign of rust etc, but i guess what the eye cant see is harming the car (Maybe)

ive had a few friends look over it, lots of different answers and im actually starting to learn something
well until i started listening to myself and filled up the tank and added red x to it, i cant see it doing anythink really.

If i find out the injectors etc are bust ill be in contact kraM, thanks for your help

Hi all,

spent june, july, and august trying to fix the car, felt like i had tried everything with a little help from friends.

everyone gave up as it was giving them headaches

so it went into another garage

its been in their 2 months,

if anyone ever reads this thread and knows what the answer is, please post
