Bumper painting
« on: 27 March 2008, 14:58 »
How would you go about painting a small area of your bumper. Its the front drivers corner (where my silly mother decided to catch with her car )?

I have a mystic blue gti.

not 100%   but you may need to spray the whole bumper, unless its just a light scratch then use the paint pens. If it is a deep scratch, probs need to fill it, etc. Post a pic of it.

hi, if you can colour match the damaged area it can be blended in with very fine wet and dry (1500 ish) and an electric polisher and cutting compound.

but if you haven't painted or done anything like this it can be a bit daunting..

That's a respray job mate.

For what it'd cost in rattle cans, rubbing compund & polish you'd be better off dropping it into to a spray shop.

They'll do a better job than you could with a can anyway!
