Got a MK2 Gti (digifant) on the backside of the throttle body there is a hose about 10cm long with a plug in the end. does anyone know what it does? and what affect it would have if it was split?

it doesnt do anything but if it is split or the bung is leaking it will introduce unmetered air into the engine resulting in bad idle etc etc get some vacuum hose from vag and replace it, its worth doing all of them cos they detioriate over time, and yopu get 2metres worht from vag anyway

if any air enters the engine without going through the air flow meter its ment to cause lean running!
