1st power mod for gti 8valve

after much deliberation on which model of mk2 golf to go for i have finally chosen an 89 reg 8valve!

i am new to the vw scene after previuosly owning a fiat coupe turbo and i am desperatley in need of some help!

for reasnoble money what is he best modification i can do to my golf to give it more power?

your help, knowledge and expertise would be much appreciated!

I was the same so the first things I went for were a supersprint exhaust and a K&N induction kit.

Will probably cam it next.
