Nurburgring 24 hour race
« on: 26 March 2008, 16:18 »
Being on 15 nearly 16 I think in a few years I could do the Nurburgring 24 hour race ,
Yes I know but I am saving up. I've been to the nurburgring 24 hour race twise now and its fab so my dream is to do it. And I was thinking what car to use. I didn't want it to be somthing exspensive for obvious reasons but I thought I might try a diesel Golf to do it in as I would like a comprimise between performance and to be light on the fuel and most of all reliable. What do you lot think??

After seeing Top Gear do that 24 hour event I'd love to try it.

I think if I was doing it and had to use a diesel, I'd probably use something like a Golf or 306.. Cheap, so I wouldnt care that much about smashing it up..

If I could use any affordable car, probably go for my golf (mk2 8v), a fiesta xr2i, or an E30 325i (for something more roomier).

Need somthing reliable though cos when I looked around the pits one team would have about 10 members to fix the car if it broke down though Im not really wanting to do that. Anyway I am not wanting to win it I just want the exsperince

Don't want to spend much money of tuning it maybe remap, new air filter, brakes, suspention (sorry im not much of a speller. :embarassed:)most of the money will go towards race preparing it like roll cage stuff to make it legal to do the race.

Ive seen deisels at the race, should off seen the back off them after the race. A yellow Seat leon 1.9 TDi was black at the back.

Can't say from person experience though.

How much are you looking at spending on it altogether?
