my mk1 cabs

got a bit of a predicument (spelling) i bought a blue mk1 cab with no engine and box with the intention of putin engine in and keepin slowly doin various bits ect then i came across a mk1 cab in black karmann gti all runnin very good hood poo interior and a bit rusty only cosmectic tho
any way what should i do clean the balck 1 and sell or put a 1.6 engin in blue 1 and sell and keep the gti

1 other question will the hood off a breg fit on a wreg

well which do you prefer? how much money/time do you want to spend? which has the most solid body?
afaik, the hoods should be the same, don't think the dimensions ever changed with regards to the hood, although I could be wrong..
fyi - Karmann is not actually a "spec" its just simply where the cabriolets were built :smiley:

dinx thanks for info time is not a issue money can always be a issue tho lol but in no rush
 
rite blue 1 w reg  as said no engine box poo interior slight rip in hood underneath spotless need 2 doors sorting and few bits of trim inside needs respray tho!!

black 1 b reg gti  good engine good hood poo interior again underneath solid as fas as i can havent had this 1 on ramps yet  downside rust rear quarter but not to far gone new wing and front panel also needs respray in my eyes !!

also dinx so karmann is made were lol

Also Lee, have you checked out the mk1 golf forum?
right... first off, you either need to use bullet points or commas as I had to read your lists like three times! :grin:
Usual places for rust - Front wings - esp passenger, where the ariel is usually located
underneath windscreen and rear window
fuel filler neck
check battery tray

If your not bothered which, Id pick the best body, use the best bits off each car and go from there..

other prob with blue 1 is its a 1.6

yeah..so possibly use the gti engine if its a better body? just depends what kind of car you want? like economy/drive/looks wise..
