Intermediate Sprocket

Quick question...

I've almost finished fitting a new cambelt on my 16v. The timing seems fine but there is no timing marks on the intermediate sprocket. On the 16v I think that all the intermediate sprocket does is turn the oil pump, so it therefore doesn't need to be timed (whereas on an 8v it also turns the dizzy IIRC).

Is this true?

I'm sure you are talking about the AUX one from the pic below? Youre right, it doesn't need to be timed.

Good luck starting it up!

Cheers Leon. Big help thanks.

I'm cacking it. All the marks line up and the engine turns nicely, but still.... Cacking it!
