my motor is a 16v by the way and it seems to be fairly frugal when i'm not rorsting it. If I cruise it does very well.

I'll have to get it to the garage next month to see if it is running lean, along with the dent in the passenger door and the sunroof which won't close properly. :rolleyes:

i was getting 45-48mpg without tonking it and when i did the maths conversion it was about right, but it was pinking as i forgot it needs super unleaded and not just normal - thankfully someone on here put me right! :embarassed:

I have yet to put a full tank of high octane petrol in it yet, so will be interesting to see what the difference in economy and performance will be. It has about £20s worth of 95 ron at the mo, drives smoothly on this tho and it doesn't appear to be pinking.

Update - twas 3am coming home from work (late shift) cruising at 70 mph on A12, following wind, no traffic and tank filled with £30's worth of V-Power earlier on in the day and I spotted a new record on the MFA - 51.4 mpg!!!! Surely the first 16v Diesel in the world  :grin:

I'm lucky if mine reads above 12mpg or 30mph. Only thing I use my MFA for is oil temp.

 :grin: fill up to the brim - reset ya trip - drive til empty - fill up - then do the maths . 

My MFA is about as reliable as Great Western Trains when it comes to MPG  :grin: :laugh:
