- Rattles (remedy = propping)
- (3dr version) runners stop working on seats (remedy = new runners)
- Wing mirrors not poping out/in (remedy = ECU update)
- Windows sometimes have a mind of their own (remedy = ECU update)
- Steering clicking (remedy = new steering rack)
- Condensation in lights (remedy = lights replaced) (Condensation does go away itself if left for a while)

I had all those on mine. Got them all sorted under warranty.

It seems a different world owning the gti for the past 2 years.  All the cars i had before were all over forums for problems here there and everywhere.  In the 2 years ive owned it, i cant recall more than a couple of mentions of problems with the car on 3 forums. I think the post above has pretty much everything covered

I'll add a few more I've heard of :

- Milky white worms on 18" Monza Wheels (remedy = replaced under warranty if you're lucky)
- Rear Windscreen wiper going a bit erratic (remedy = new motor)
- Wind Noise around front door seals & mirrors (remedy = front door realigned, usually due to dropping a bit)
- DV seal going (mainly on remapped cars) - (remedy = replace, many people choose a Forge DV)
- Leaks found in boot well - (remedy = new rear hatch seals)
- Oil consumption in some new cars can be high (remedy = wait, usually improves with mileage)
