16v fuel pump
« on: 19 March 2008, 12:37 »
How do you change them?

I had a look under the car last night and found this unit thing, was expecting there to be a pump and accumulator on a sort of holding rack, going to jump in there later tonight and have a bit more of a butchers so any helpful hints and what not would be awesome.

Cheers

Undo the unions carefully and drop the pipes off, pull the electrical connectors off, then unbolt the pump from the car by undoing the four bolts that hold it on there.

Be careful when you're doing this, as undoing the unions may release high pressure fuel on the engine side.  You're also removing the accumulator, which is full of fuel.  Make sure the car has cooled down before starting work and make sure there aren't any naked lights (fags etc).
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
