The sound system........

I started playing around with the stereo as i realized there was no great sound or volume......

Then discovered there was no option in the balance for front and rear....strange i thought....

So i turned up the system and sat in the back to notice there was absolutely no speakers in the back!!!!

So the solution would be to spend some money on some descent kit.

OSIR Front Splitter - OSIR Rear Diffuser - RNS 510 - JL Audio Cleansweep - JL Audio 400/4 Amplifier - JL Audio ZR650 - Recaro Bucket Seats - 3.2 V6 of Pure Power!

Is your car a 3 door? (Assuming you get a TDI in 3 door) and is it a import?

Up to a stage. Im not sure what year your car is... The three door imports and some 5 door imports did not get rear speakers although the speaker grills etc were there. You can take it to VW amd ask them to install the speakers for you.

Or go aftermarket. The standard VW amplifier is useless and cant run a sub and the actual player itself is useless. So get something like Hurdy has. Much better deal.

I cant complain about the stereo cos In South Africa we get different speakers to the UK and I can tell you. The sound system is excellent.

Between a certain year. I think its from 06 to 07 they changed the Sound System.

Before the headunit was the amplifier and later they fitted an amp under the drivers seat. All the GTi's as far as I know came standard with the amp after 06.

You then got the soundblaster/ soundpack option which basically gave you minor upgrades on the speakers and they boosted the amp.

With all due respect. Everyone complains about door cards rattling etc. We have never had that and no matter what genre of music it still sounds classy.

I’m perfectly happy with the sounds in my ED30. More interested in the turbo whoosh and exhaust burble.

Not bad for a mainstream manufacturer.
