This is a daft question but would the beetle sport 6 spd knob fit my 5spd 20vt?   :embarassed:

it would but you can get a 5 speed version :afro: Rich has one  :smiley:

Thanks lads, think i will get the 6 spd one at half the price, just have to remember i dont have 6th like my leon cupra.  :laugh:

Where are the clips that hold the garter/frame in to place and how to you remove the stick?

I need to replace mine.

a doddle mate once you get the clip off the old one. lift up the gaitor, undo clip, pull off gearknob.  Fitting is reversal of removal  :grin:

the gaitor just pulls up mate; no clips holding that in.  you'll see the brass clip holding the gearstick on; destroy that and pull up.  you'll need to use the exisiting base as the new base is a different shape

Thanks - i couldn't find the original question i asked honest !

When you say destroy the brass clips, are new clips supplied?
