Just wondering if anybody else heard this,when my gti was in the dealers a couple of weeks ago for warrenty work it got the latest ecu upgrade,anyway got speaking to one of the mechanic or technicians as there called now about this upgrade and he tells me the standard gti is now running 215bhp. cheers stevie.

I hope your right !!, that wont go down to well with the ed30 boyz. i wonder if thats the case.Someone else did say something simular that new 07-08's are running a higher bhp . they had their red GTI put on the rolling road and it was pushing 217hp which would add up with your findings.

Did you notice any differece in performance after the upgrade to subsantiate it?

The power delivery just felt smoother, but before it went to the dealers the car had a revo stage 1 which lasted 2 hours before the gti had an ecu failure so its hard to tell.

Oh well that means the GTI is only 30 bhp behind the ED30 now instead of the original 45bhp. Rollers have proven  :lipsrsealed:  :grin:

A question I need to ask Revo, but if your 200 bhp GTI is remapped to say 250 bhp and then this 215 update added, will you then make 265 bhp?

....But not so good if the GTI 215 update also upped the DSG torque even higher!

What's the VW code for this ECU update?

it's just a little prog that you can get from the web, and you overclock your engine a bit
But you need a USB connection in your car in order to download it into your engine's computer  :wink:
