how longs a piece of string?

£2000 will get you a really nice mk2 or mk3.

for all the leccy stuff /PAS you want a 90 or 91 mk2.

most mk3's (1992-1997) should have all that anyway, some will also have ABS. the 8v mk3 is not fast , but not as slow as some would have you think.

personally i'd go for a mk3 16v if you can find a good one.

Blimey!

The short answer is to use either Google or the individual sections for each mark on this forum to give you an idea of what each one is. Basically your average Mk1 will prob now be over twenty years old, and will therefore have very little in terms of electrical luxuries, running right up to a present day Mk5 that could have all the bells and whistles.

Here are the Marks (in order)...

I knew what mark I wanted - MkII -  you say you want a specific car but dont know what mark is what - is just a tad random to me

as for ya budget - mk3 maximum - mk4 or 5 will be over 2k

once you decide what mark you want - then you can get advise regarding what to look out for on that specific Mark.

also - insurance - dependant on how old - budget etc - then that could influence your decision too.

Good Luck

You've got to admit that Chuff is right... Saying you definitely want a Golf without knowing the difference between a Mk1 and a Mk5 is a bit random!!

As an aside... I'm interested in buying a Bugatti. Can anyone tell me what is the difference between a Veyron and a Type 57, as I can't decide?

Veyron:

Type 57:

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I shouldnt but

As for swapping a Vectra V6 for a Mk3 Boat Gti - without seeing both in the flesh I really wouldnt want to comments.

All depends on what you want out of a car - fuel economy - ride quality - the list is endless -  only you could decide if its a good deal

as for what to look out for - pop into the Mk3 section
