yes but judging by your figures, you must do 3-4k at year annual mileage!.Tax is about to spiral aswell, you have drove the GTi then the R. you have no records to back this up.R32 is way more thirsty especially if you live in the suberbs.Only place i can foresee the R becoming more viable is if you live on a motorway slip road and drive loads of motorway journeys.Even the GTi isnt the most economical car round town returning 25mpg average if your sat in traffic regular.

My work is 16 miles away, so 32 miles a day, and i drive a little over the weekend (i have a family car for carting kids around at the weekend), so only the odd trip to the shops etc etc.

I think in my GTI i was averaging just under 11k pa.  I was putting in a normal week, 30 quid.  I ve had my R32 2 months, and at the moment, doing the same trips, and am putting 40 quid in!.

As i said, its my own experience, so i can only judge that, so it isnt much more than a GTI.

Tax will only soar another 100 quid or so, (2 quid a week) so it really aint a lot to own a car like that.

IMHO ED30 with stage 1 remap, 307bhp with 31mpg

If money was no object, R32 with MTM conversion, 400bhp, mpg who cares, although you will need to rob your Mum, Nan and brother too!!!!
