8v is rod change and cable clutch system, 16v is cable shift and Hydrolic clutch. These two systems are quite different and have different peddle boxes as well as the gear change and fluid/cable differences. It is doable but it would be a right pain and would make the 16v a pain to maintain in the future plus any savvy buyer would be put off by all the 8v stuff in it. Nick
