meh. There will be a rebellion soon and all politicians will be burned at the stake, like the evil bloodsucking witches that they are.

This is one of the reasons I took a GTI and not an R32 !

Afterall we all know it all comes down to one thing - they will only put up tax on the things we need, if it was something we didnt no-one would buy/use it and Gov would loose out.

Whats going on with this carrier bag situation at the moment, ok they want to stop us using them - easy stop making them, give us other methods... but no what there going to do is charge us for them, what does this do increase someone's profits I bet??  Someone has though we could make money out of this and in we'll cover it by making it look like were doing our bit for the environment.

Rant over ... sorry

....A bit off topic, but there are plenty of canvas bags available - I hardly ever use plastic bags now. I burn petrol to make up for it!

lets be honest, its to pay for the war and all the scuzzers claiming benifit and all the peeps that are fresh of the boat.

We should....

Leave the middle east to get on with it
make the scuzzers go back to work, even if it is just cleaning up their local community.
and send the rest back to France.

IMO.

Gonna hangout with the wangout

The most irritating thing in my case, is I waited years for the insurance to become a sensible level before getting an R32, and now what I'm saving on insurance just goes straight into Gordon Brown's pocket instead.

... and meanwhile China commissions something like 5 new COAL FIRED power stations a week!

We are all aware of what this is all about, the Government Burglars look for any additional way of digging themselves out of the financial mess they have got themselves into in the previous fiscal year.

It has always been the same, it matters not the colour of the political party in charge at the time.

So strap yourselves in car fans, the futures bleak.....however what fun we will have in the meantime...just before we run our cars into the ground before giving up on life and opting to buy ourselves a Citroen C1 diesel or some other eco friendly shopping trolley.

If we ALL did...bet they would start charging significantly more for cars BELOW a certain size...w@nkers.

Let the fun begin........Red Gti, full colour coding, DSG, Xenons, Winter pack, Lux pack, Highline, Sat Nav, Sunroof, Leather, Milltek, ABT rear valance, Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics....pescaras :-)

I am sick of living in this money grabbing sh!t whole. Damm speed cameras graining etc cash nothing to do with saving lifes. Then you got stupid car tax which rises all the time.

Fuel for car rising each day it wud seem. Council tax rising. Energy prices rising to fuel our homes. Price of food going up probley to do with the rise of fuel. All these rises and out wages stay the same.

Soon people wont be going out at all. Cant afford to move next.
Diesel power all the way

While i agree with almost all of what you said.. the R32 is hardly lardy?? only a few kg more than other golfs.

Remember there is no replacement for displacement

Gents - for reference -IMO all cars are to Lardy. Think about it - a UR Quattro (which was considered a big car) with all the R32 gubbins (OK 1 cylinder less!) weighed pretty much the same weight as todays Golf GTI. Today a RS4 (without even mentioning the lardy RS6) weighs as much as Two Mk1 Golf GTI's!!!!!!!!!!
Whats needed is lighter cars with more sophisticated materials to increase power to weight with lighter smaller more efficient engines - thats how it used to be and we were all happy then until safety matters interviened.
The trick the Government is missing is not taxing on power to weight (mmm maybe it doesn't make enough money!) - that way it would really hit these big powerful inefficient SUV's that loads of people with a taste / social responsibility by-passes are buying for school runs and give low volume sports car manufacturers a fighting chance!
However all above is fine so long as Enviromental taxes go on enviromental issues! Mmm - now what bomb shall i buy!
