R32 owners may want to sit down...
« on: 12 March 2008, 17:37 »
:sad:Just looking at the VED duties in the budget, the GTI for this year will be £210 for the year but will go up to £260 next year.

R32 (if registered after 23rd March 2006) will be £400 this year and will rise to £415 next year.

Hope I worked this out right, correct me if I am wrong.

How come the gas guzzler only goes up £15 and the GTI goes up by £50?......Oh, I know why, there are a lot more F band cars than G band. Another case of lets go for the majority

Mind you in either case it is less than a tank of fuel :undecided:

They aren't doing this for environmental issues, it's just a way of squeezing more money out of us.  Just look at alcohol, as a nation, we all like a drink, the government just want us to give them more money with every drink we buy.  Their philosophy is to tax the sh!t out of anything that gives people any pleasure.  B@stards.

True, but it still doesnt seem right.  Im sure i remember reading somewhere that the total contribution to CO2 immisions from cars is less than .1% of the planets total production   Puts it into prospective doesnt it......

£15 more can cause that much more damage to some ones pocket....especially if you are already paying £400

....But then won't it be £425 for 2010 !!!!

I won't be changing my car just to satisfy the fecking gov'nment !!

This tax doesn't solve any carbon problems, it just collects even more tax which will probably get used to shaft us even more by funding toll roads!

No up until today it was £300 per year for cars like the R32, it is now £400 for the remainder of this year, rising to £415 next year.
