performance chip

hi, someone was telling me they got a performance chip off ebay for £30 that bypasses the fuel management, and it comes from germany and is easy to fit but i cant find anything on ebay, anyone know anything about this please.

more than likely a scam  :laugh: mate most of the so called performance chips on ebay are resistors that fool things like maf sensors in to thinking the air is super cool so alters the fuel mixture makes it more rich.the car will be faster for about 10 miles till it does some damage. i know of some one that put one of these  :laugh: chips on got 3 miles down the road and it cooked the spark plugs ht leads and distributer if i was you id say well away or get a proper remap  :wink:

Dont chip your car!! Pay for a remap (flash loaded through com port!)
Will always love my mk4 but she had to go...225 Quattro TT in its place....but its still black (she lives on in spirit!)

Tell them they're talking sh!t and 'bypassing the fuel management' is not the way to increase performance. Really just sounds like the resistor mod again.

right, thanks for the replies.

he said it lasted for about 3 months before it blew up but it didnt cause any damage and it upped performance by about 20%, and that it was a kind of elbow shape.ummm......

As said load of boll**** resistor mod which will harm you engine - Steer well clear!!!.
 Save up and get a real remap.  :wink:
