ABS light is on, any ideas?

Hi Fellas,

My ABS light has been coming on for some time. It doesn't seem to be effecting my driving experience in any way but I just thought I'd see if anyone else has come across this problem before and whether it's something I should be worrying about.

Depends on what car you have as to the possible problems. The MK4 Golf and its cousins are very prone to this. As is the MK3 but for different reasons

when the light is on there is a fault and it turns the abs off so it wont work

Just making sure, is it definitely a mk2 you have and you're not in the wrong section!?
