What vacuum do you use for the interior?
« on: 10 March 2008, 12:17 »
Hi guys,

Just wondered what vacuum model you guys use to clean out your vehicles.

I had a good clean out of my car on the weekend and used my Dyson. It has a thin nozzle that I use for the interior, it's ok but never really gets deep in to the carpet so there is still a layer of dust and hair that remains. Has anyone got a really good vacuum that takes the carpet back to it's original cleanliness?

I bought a cheap wet and dry Hoover from Makro. It's immense, done all my DIY needs with it too. £25 and more suck than a crack whore

... it's turned into a fashion show for poofters.

i got one of them 8 cyclone dyson things (i say i've got one...i mean my mom)

thats pretty good but does take a lot of work to get the carpet clean... i took all the carpets out and jetwashed em then let them dry then vaccumed them, look spotless now with minimal effort...

yeah, always at least take the front seats out to vacuum a mk2. takes about 2 mins and makes the job a million times easier.

tbh first time i wash and vaccum my new cars, i take all the interior out, do it all propperly, then after that it makes it a million times easier everytime after. havea  day cleaning and polishing the outside, and a day cleaning and vacuming the inside.

then after that its keeping it tidy thats the problem haha. and stopping the gf putting her bloody muddy feet up on the shelf under the glove box!

When you say you take the carpets out, do you mean the ones that cover the whole car or just the mats? I like the idea of jet washing them and then hoovering them. I think that could do the job.

yeah, front seats out...2 bolts...

back seats out... 8 screws...

carpets out... 20 mins...

jetwash, scrub, jetwash... leave to dry, do that to boot carpet, center section carpet, and front section carpet.

then once dried, spend a while on each really taking your time hoovering them...

then whack em in seats back in, plastic trim bits back in. sorted, after that its just a case of a quick once over every other week and making sure you dont spill fanta all over etc when your coming back from maccy d's drive thru!
