Hi Guys,

Just a quick post. A bit disappointed, as I was supposed to be collecting my new ED30 this morning, however small fault(s) has put it on hold.

A tyre pressure warning light was showing on the dash so they popped it into the workshop to adjust, expecting a small drop in pressure in one of the tyres. Pumped up/checked tyres, light still on! However the ABS light is also now showing, so they’re on the phone to VW tech centre to investigate. It seems the top right button on the multi-function steering wheel isn’t working... which I guess accesses the Highline computer.

VWUK reckon it could be one of five potential faults. Steering wheel faulty, sensors iffy under engine block and three others the salesman couldn’t remember.

Real shame, took 2-days off work to enjoy the experience, now not sure what’s happening.

Salesman really nice, genuine guy and really gutted, he’d moved the showroom around to accomodate my car, so I could inspect it carefully in this truly dreadful weather.

I know some of you have had issues with the tyre monitors... what about the other issues... probably linked I guess.

Sigh... ah well... just killing some time... waiting for update from dealer

Any thoughts?
Hotrod

Mate, welllllllllllllllllllllllll gutted!!!!!

Still if you fancy a spin in my ed30 to keep you going, would totally understand!

Will say a tiny prayer for your new baby

Fingers and toes crossed, new cars eh????

Trust me though, the second you get behind the wheel and put your foot down, you will forgive and forget all!!!!

Cheers Telboy... appreciate the sentiment,

No word yet from dealer... hopefully pretty soon now. As an upside at least the weather is better than yesterday... slightly.

I’ll keep you all updated... I’ll either be very happy or p•ssed off tonight!

I’M SO HAPPY... IT’S HERE & PERFECT... sorry to shout!

The boyz at Loders, Dorchester did a sterling job.

The faulty part was the ECU which controls the MFSW. Part fitted early Tuesday, washed and valeted again, placed in prime position in showroom where it was polished and detailed. Spent 2.5 hours with Elliott going through everything very carefully.

A couple of small swirls/ marks on drivers door, so was wipped up to their bodyshop for a gentle buff... bloody perfect!!

Drove home (35miles) in crappy weather, but with an enormous grin. Popped into work briefly to0 show the poetrol heads... all blown away.

I love it so much I’ve decided to take tomorrow off as well.

I really made the right decision to choose white... however, sad to see the 4-Mo go however... a trusty companion!

I’ll try to post a pic soon.

Cheers buddies... Hotrod

No wonder Elliott wasn't on MySpace most of the day as usual

Did you meet Mark at the bodyshop then?

Cheers Guys,

Appreciate the kind words. Loving the car, adore the Candy White. If you are worried, like I was, about going to white... DON’T! It really shows up the contours and curves and makes a real statement (especially with privacy glass).

I have tried to upload some pics but I am struggling. I’ve got a Flcker account, but I can’t see where to attach files or links when posting. Simple advice please!? Same goes for the avatar. I’m ok on the MKIV/V forum quite straightforward, but not on here.

Speak soon... Hotrod
