driveshaft compatibility?

Hi, got a 86 1800 gti cab which has a badly worn o/s driveshaft! was offered one which came off a standard gti does anyone know if they are compatible? cheers.

mk2 driveshafts wont fit a cabby (slightly longer) you want either a cabby driveshaft or one from a scirocco, make sure though that it has the same size inner cv joints as yours which should be 100mm being an 86, you say badly worn but whats actualy wrong with it? if its just a case of worn cv joints your better off replacing them than the whole thing
