Yeh, I used 90% of that guide for the install, I put my gps antenna up beside the rear view mirror as I was having trouble with it in the dash. When replacing it all back put some felt strips in to stop any rattles otherwise it will squeak.

I think the worst time to have a heart attack is during a game of charades. Especially if your teammates are bad guessers.

Sorted.  Took about an hour in the end (is was pitch black).  Getting the last plug in the top pallet was a right bugger.

In the end i have put the antenna as per the instructions on the top of the dash.  i will see how much that gets on my nerves before moving it to a different location.  For my first ever attempt at fitting something with wires attached, i think that is was pretty easy.

Thanks for all the feedback and the great link!!

+1 on putting the sensor under the dash, I fitted my ebay sourced OEM unit at the weekend and put it in a small space to the top left of the unit, I used a sticky pad to prevent it moving).

I found the whole thing easier to install than expected, but do make sure you have a good trim removal tool. Also put a cloth on top of the dash to prevent scratches when you move the top vent housing.

I put my antenna there too, seemed OK (not always perfect) until a few weeks back when it just wouldnt find a signal at all. Had to bring it out and stick on to the air diffuser (magentically)
