G60 Mk3 - Conversion from corrado/mk2
« on: 06 March 2008, 09:44 »
Hi all.

Im after more power from my 2.0 8v Mk3.

Ive considered vr6, but you can buy them easily enough and it doesnt seem worth the time and effort
converting my colour concept into a vr6 for the money.

Has a G60 conversion been some many times before? I can get hold off a complete corrado g60 and was wondering how much work is involved in fitting it to a late spec mk3 gti.

Im very hands on, so the fitting and removing can be done myself, the wiring though may become a problem. Can i use my fusebox and clocks on the G60 engine?

Can anybody help?

I'm afraid I don't know the technicalities but there was a chap at GTI Festival a couple of years back who had converted his mk3 8v to G60 all on his own, and he said it was a piece of p!ss to do.. so you're onto a winner. Snap that 'raddo up before someone else does

go with a 2.0 16v (abf) and use the g60 charger on that .g60 will go in no problem using the loom to power aftermarket ecu -but its costly

I think the wiring is relativly simple!  you dont have to do to much pysical wire cutting or anything, just swap the looms. (in theory anyway)
10 golfs and counting!
