Hi,

Ive kerbed my 18 inch Monza 2, the type with the diamond cut face.

D`OH.

Need to get it refurbed, and will probably get the rest of them done at the same time so they all match (And they have slight damage from what looks like tyre changes from the previous owner)

Spit and polish have a good reputation, but is a bit of a trek form me. I would go there if they are the best, but would prefer somewhere in the midlands if possible... Any suggestions.

Also, If anyone has had them refurbed, is the finis as good as new and does it stay looking good...if you avoid he kerbs.

Cheers

My mom destroyed a Monza rim and damaged another and we had the one refurbished. Unfortunatly with the diamond cut and lacquer finish most refurbishers dont like taking the chance of fixing them and it usually costs a faird bit.

Spit and Polish are apparently the people to go to.

Our efurbished rims look great but not sure how long they will last. We just replaced the damaged ones and put the refurbished one in the attic.

ive been aksing this question to all the alloy refurb places in my city and nobody will refurb it to the same shiny finish

only one place would do it for £85 an alloy!!!!!

id wait untill a few more get marked and get them sprayed another colour, matt black or watever you fancy.

to be honest im going off my 18 monzas the shiny finish is to easily maked and kinda looks ricey (so ive been told:(

Try Pristine wheels (01908 282 628) in Milton keynes.  Its the company i use for any damaged wheels that are returned.  I know that they do the full refurb but cant say how amny pennies...

this is why i use replicas. Its cheaper for me to get a set of 18"s than it would be to get them refurbed. I can gte a new one at £60

I am keeping my eye out for someone in the midlands area who will do this, I dont mind sending them away actually as there not on the car anyway but at almost £100 per wheel its something that can wait

£135 to get a pair done at Spit and Polish, I booked mine in for a day and caught train up to london for a wander about but you can send them in via courier.

Only been done a month but no problems so far, if you look really closely the dark grey inserts have a slight hammered finish but nothing you'd pick up without a magnifying glass!!

I have a lead from someone "in the trade" about someone that can do repairs on diamond cut alloys.

Im still doubtful but will give it a try and post up pics and a review, should be next week hopefully.
