exhaust question

hi
is it necessary to smear exhaust paste on the between the manifold and head and between the manifold and downpipe, or the gaskets alone are fine?

Just the gaskets. If you put on exhaust paste, then yes it will seal, but it will also affect the torque loading and later down the line, you could find yourself with a blowing manifold.

i have only gaskets but i thought the dudes tried to save some pennies.
