Just joined the club! Tuning on AGU blocks...
« on: 02 March 2008, 23:11 »
Righto... Just bought a 1.8 t gti 1999, beauty, satin silver, anniversary trim etc.
Q1. I've heard that these engine models aren't as tunable as some of the newer versions, correct?
Q2. Bought the car second hand with a re-circulating dump and a carbonio cool air intake, how much extra bhp am i getting?
Q3. Anyone got any spare alloys? My one gripe is the wheels. Lovely car though!
Thanks in advance.

Q1.  Correct, the AGU lump has a slightly older turbo version, but theres not that much in it. IIRC its something like 200bhp max on the K03 and 220bhp and the K03S (approximately). I wouldn't worry about it as I would be more interested in smoothness of power delivery and torque bands than absolute figures.

Q2.  Don't know. Prob only a minor improvement without a remap.

Q3.  Check the "For Sale" section!
