The cars a 56 plate, cruise control & highline comp not working, new ecu fitted last week, handbrake cover faulty and replaced, outside doortrim has been replaced not one but two times, cill trim also refitted twice, not bad for a car at nearly £23,000

I reckon that's eight faults.
VW Sales (of this forum) should be along any moment with well over 300 owners who've never experienced even a single problem.

Thats unfortunate, my old R32 was a pain in the backside, must have been in about 5 times in a year for warranty work, mostly to do with faulty air con! It does do your head in! But in fairness I've just collected my ED30 from its first service this morning and the only thing I got them to look at was the rear lamps getting condensation inside occassionally. Apart from that not a rattle! Strange that you get the odd 'bad apple' where everything seems to go wrong!

For every fault in one car there are ............................. sorry bit late am i............... in all seriousness.

Its so frustrating as a sales man to have customers with these issues, the cars are sold on there strengths, and the stregths of the vw brand.

So as a consumer i do undersatnd the frustration, i too would not be happy with these problems.

But its true that because this forum and others like it are such a condensed slice of the vw market it seems alot of cars have problems, the reality is that they dont.

100'S Of cars are sold and not seen other than the service, till the customer buys another vw 3 years later,

stick with it mate, keep pestering the dealer till your happy, if your not happy pester vw uk, you have paid your money you deserve what you paid for.

....which are, in my experience (as well as others,as you can see), a little overstated. And possibly undeserved.

What might be a good idea is for every owner here to post any problems - that's any problems however minor just so we can judge for ourselves the level of 'quality'. C'mon people, forget your brand loyalty and be totally honest !!! It's the only way they'll improve - perhaps this little old board can actually make a difference ?
