My New 16V
« on: 02 March 2008, 20:14 »
HI im new to the forum so here goes.
Ive just got a GTi 16 V '96 106K miles and though its a rocket there is a worrying oil leak from the crank seal on the gearbox side. Is it a big job, engine out? or am i ok, im a fairly competent tractor mechanic!!! different technology i no but the principles are the same.

Any advice gratefully recieved.

Sure it's a crank seal and not just a sump gasket?

Good investment by the way ;)

They'll be even more confused when you fly past them when you press the loud pedal ;)
