EXHAUST SLAP!?

Getting a knocking underneath on my mk3 gti I presume its the exhaust - Any ideas?

mines knocking too, sounds like back box is hitting. i'm fitting new S/S system soon so hopefully i'll sort mine then........it mght be ya heatshields or rubbbers

i get this still after converting from the suitcase to the pipe from volksbits, i think i might have to get the blowtorch out and bend it some.
Mk3 Golf Gti:Full Milltek system and Decat,K&N filter,mk2 Cam,-1.5 degree camber shims, borbet a's, toyo proxies,hot tuning coils, brembo vented discs, greenstuff pads...Soon to have Eaton Power

mk3 16v 5dr Gti,mintex extreme pads,drilled/grooved discs,lowered,cat back powerflow system,omp panel filter with modified airbox,debadged grill, started prep for spraying, lots to come :D

did u replace middle box with centre replacement pipe then..??.....u get any gains from doing that..??

dont know really, its raspy and its not hitting the floor anymore lol... That was my old concern

I heard the manifolds can make the raspy noise from a leak or sumfin.

nah its raspy because of the standard back box without the centre silencer..

sounds awesome on full chat though

i have the same problem with mine its just the carriers that hold the big lunch box in place. it does my head in over 4,000rpm it makes a horrible noise.

one good thing it stops me from thrashing her mind!!!... :evil:

will get it sorted one day
