130 0r 150 GT TDI???
« on: 29 February 2008, 14:31 »
Based on Rhyso's recommendations I've been after a GT TDI 130 - However I have seen a really nice 150 for just a few hundred more than my budget.

What would you do!

if its a nice spec and well looked after 150 for a few hundred more, then i'd go for it.

the only thing i will say is don't rush into buying a car because something nice has come along, i spend probably 4 months looking for my TDI and i'm glad that i did.

Totally agree with you - i look for cars each day but for the 130 as recommended. But if a 150 is better and looked after then maybe its a winner!

I never rush to purchase anything i still have a betamax player :P

the 150 is better, just i'd be careful if its priced around 130 money, it could be they want a quick sale, or they just don't know what its worth.

if you've got some links then we can check it out.

It has no extras and is about 7k.

Its more than a 130 with extras so it should be ok. Just not sure if i am jumping - i'll sleep on it ....

i paid £8750 for mine and the extras were; xenons, winter pack, sunroof and full leather

full VWSH and 65K on the clock

you need to decide if you want the toys or not.

when i was looking i had a list of needs and wants

for example she needed to have leather and i wanted cruise

if i was you i'd work out what you want and what you need and then see if the needs can be fitted after, most of the toys can be fitted after, although some stuff like xenons and climate will cost you more that its worth to retro fit.

Cheers ridge - exactly what i have been doing and over the past several weeks option extras have slowly fallen of the requirements list ;)

maybe time to increase how far you're willing to go, but in my opinion its better to wait for the right car that ticks all the boxes, than rush into getting one that only ticks a few.
