Thanks JV

Right here we go, this is my first golf and first project and i think im going to have my handsful!!! :undecided:
I was given this mk 2 8v last week by my mum and dads neighbor who bought it for £200, he had the plan of spending a bit on it and having it as a wkend car but all he done in 18 months was change the plugs
its done 162000 miles dont know about the history of it yet as i havnt got all the paperwork but when i get hold of it ill let you all know.
At the minute the engines only running on 2 cylinders  dont know why but its getting worse. i will try add some pics when i get some decent ones.

To do list:

Get it running proper!!
take the arches and skirts off to see just how much rust is hiding underneath
put it in for an mot to see what needs to be done to get it back on the road
get it a bit closer to the floor
replace/repair drivers seat bolster
change the clocks to 160
new alarm
change all the lights

Wish list:
1.8 2ovt / vr6 conversion

like i said will add some pics over the next couple of days and keep you all updated

well not done much lately at all, been a bit busy with the house!! well bought some bilstein shocks and springs for £45 off e-bay which i didnt think was too bad, still waiting for them to turn up though  and got a shiney new bonnet catch as the other has seized so the bonnet doesn't shut!! Now as soon as i can get the thing running ( hopefully this week or next) its coming to work with me so i can get started on sorting all that lovely rust and get it sprayed. after that its MOT time to see what else needs to be done.

When i start the body work ill get some pics on here of how it looks and my new springs. I'mstill waiting on all the paperwork aswell so still have no idea about the history of the car!

Well i put the Golf in for an MOT and while it was there got them to put the lower springs and shocks on. After it had been off the road for 2 years i assumed it would need a fair bit doing, so when it only failed on a number plate bulb, lower ball joint, cv boot and rear wheel bearing i was quite happy

I took her in to work where i was planning on getting the preparations done for the respray but did nothing to her at all, so i bought it back home as i have some time off and made a start today on pulling the arch trim off and taking the front end off to clean up the slam panel replace the bonnet catch and clean up the rust around where the battery sits.

Heres a few pics of the arches and front end:

needless to say new front wings and rear arches are in order but infortunately that willl have to wait as Crimbo has cleaned me out!!
Going to make a start omn the slam panel tomo or monday ill get some before and after pics up.

well thats all for now will update again soon, hopefully the images work as so far i still cant manage to upload them properly
