A new wind screen?

I noticed the windscreen on my Golf looked really streaked (on the outside), so I tried to give it a good clean, but they're still there.  After VERY close observation it appears the windscreen is covered in TONNES of swurley scratches 

Reckon I need a new windscreen fitted?  If so any idea on cost?

I assume they'd say something like "P*ss off, that's scratched to buggery, it's wear and tear mate, plus we only fix cracks!"

yeah if you want it done throw insurance then you'll need to get a stone chip, that can't be fixed using resin, or a large crack.

most insurers will charge a 50-100 excess if the screen has to be replaced and its free if they can use resin which won't fix the cracks.

i think a new screen would normally cost about £300

You can get special glass polish, never tried it though. Or as said above, tap a crack in it.. pay the £50 excess to get it changed on insurance.

becuase then you'll be cleaning up glass for the rest of the year, and you run the risk of it bouncing off and fooking up your bonnet.

technically i wouldn't call if fraud as the windscreens already "broke" you're just making sure that it gets replaced and that you don't end up with a half baked "repair"

a hammer and a screwdriver normally does the job... not that i would know mind?!
