What are we videoing here?  A race between their cars?

At least it would be possible to watch it afterwards in fast-forward mode to save time......
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Holiday cottages on the Isle of Wight for 2-10 people? PM me.

^ Haha!

You want to see mine. You'd need to fast forward it to see it do a foot in a year!

1. Wait for the oil to cool down off exhaust.
2. Pull away.
3. Still getting to 60
4. sh!t, smoke.
5. Jizer over engine.
6. Repeat.

Haha, my car has style!

Must buy that damned bolt!

Does the insurance company have to know if you remove the back seats at all?

Fair play to you for taking on a project of this scale but I think you need to seek help if your going to pay £3k to insure it, that could never be worth it.

When someone says "it's my problem" etc. and doesn't want to discuss it, it may (or may not) mean they're planning on not declaring the slight mod of a new engine :p

I'm not saying that's what you're definately doing, but if you're contemplating it then think about the risks!

If you're actually paying for the extra, well.. good luck to you :)

sorry for bringing insurance up LL, didn't mean to kick off some random figures etc.  :undecided:

either way it's going to be sweet, I'm sure you're not the person who will go around with it undeclared either

if that was the case, it would be very silly to post a build thread on the internet with what he was doing to the car.

exactly.

ANYWAY..... to change the subject, all my polybushes came today. whoop whoop!

full set for the car. well pretty much anyway:

-rear beam
-rollbar eyebolt
-front eyebolt mount
-front rollbar mount
-wishbone inner rear
-wishbone inner front

getting there with the parts.

need to measure up for the intercooler and get on the search for one.

looking into getting a 4 bar fpr, but not sure how it fits?? cause on mine the housing built onto the fuel rail, so i need to try and find a 1.8t specific 4 bar if they exist. Not sure if 3 bar + 440cc injectors can supply enough fuel.

LL ;)

Most FPRs have a clip that pulls out and then you work them up and out of the housing GENTLY or you'll knacker it.

With 440cc injectors you shouldn't need a 4bar reg to start. Leave the 3-3.5 one in there and map the period they stay open appropriately.

Go to 4bar if you're approaching the top end of the injector duty cycle - it'll get you some more  juice through them.

For thin intercoolers check out Sprinter vans - big and thin.  Alternatively you could have a look at Merc C-Class Kompressors - their intercoolers are in one side, out the other, with nice swept bends on the unit, they're deep and compact and will probably fit in the lower opening in the front bumper.  I have one here you can try on Sunday Saturday, if you want - I'll bring it to the meet.
